Meet Shelli Caron
What is your job title and how long have you been working in hearing healthcare?
I’m an Audiologist and have been serving the Northwest Arkansas community since 1994.
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I have always loved about my job is seeing a person's reaction to hearing better. Sometimes it’s surprising to them. Sometimes their eyes open wide as they look around the room at all the new sounds they are hearing. Sometimes they cry tears of joy. It reminds me why I chose this profession and why I come to work everyday. It is truly rewarding.
What is your approach to providing great hearing healthcare?
I have learned over the years that a key element is for me to listen to the patient – to ask questions, understand their concerns and needs, and then come to a solution that is optimal for their unique situation.
Tell us about you and your family.
I have 2 children, 3 dogs, and a cat, which can get kinda hectic at times. I have always loved animals and my daughter is falling in my footsteps. If it was completely up to her we would have many more animals, including a chinchilla and iguana.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love being outdoors and will find excuses and things to do just to be outside. I love walking my dogs, swimming, and hiking. I have painted since I was a child and, when I have time, it is still one of my most favorite creative outlets. Currently my daughter and I are renovating our entire house, inside and outside. It has been challenging at times but I love the results.
